Bertrand Sicot, the CEO of Dassault Systemes SolidWorks Corp (a company that produces 3D CAD software), recently said that "there is always a balance between cost, speed and machinery shapes" in manufacturing today. He believes that traditional manufacturing won't go away anytime soon.
