Frontman of the musical talent Bloc Party, Kele Okereke, has combined his passion for making music with the booming technology of 3D printing and created the world's first full song to be 3D printed on a record . Okereke stumbled upon this idea while reading about Instructables software engineer Amanda Ghassaei using a Stratasys 3D printer at Autodesk's Pier 9 makerspace in San Francisco to recreate Nirvana and Pixies songs. The process is still a work in progress, it prints wider and deeper grooves than traditional vinyl records, limiting production to mono records at the moment. Proceeds will benefit Nordoff Robbins, a British music therapy charity.
